Student Scholarships

'IN THE ARTS' Scholarships are offered to our local students. Applications will be made available in the school as well as on this website. Openings will be limited. CRESS will work with teachers to choose the recipient(s), and will make every effort to sponsor as many students as we can throughout the year. We will be looking for students who exhibit special talent and passion in the area of the arts. Music, drama, fine arts and more. Students who may not recognize they have this talent (ability) and/or may not otherwise be able to grow their special talents. We will work hard to find mentors, workshops, lessons and other avenues to build & encourage our students' confidence and talent by working with them in the area they have shown much promise.

We will also work with teachers on their classroom wish lists to help support the 'arts' courses such as drama, art, creative writing....CRESS is dedicated to the advancement of our students.

Avinger Cook Book

It's time to put our favorite recipes to print! CRESS Community Foundation has voted on compiling and publishing the Avinger Cook Book as a fundraising project. CRESS is a non-profit community organization, organized in 2012, whose major fundraiser is the Avinger Wine Festival. The Festival proceeds benefit our students (through scholarships), our school and our Avinger Community.
We are ready to accept your favorite recipes in a number of different categories, ie: Beverages, Appetizers, Salads, Soups, Entrees, Desserts, Misc...Etc. Space may be limited in each category, depending on response, and all inclusions will be at the discretion of the CRESS Board of Directors.
Help us kick this off by sending in your favorites via email: or send hard copies to PO Box 236 Avinger 75630. You may also hand deliver to one of our board members: Elaine Moulton, Shelby Trimble, Sue Maxinoski, Lynn Schroeder, Sharon Simmons or myself.
